A Patented Technology Developed by a Member of HKUST Entrepreneurship Progam
The research and development team of NCCO discovered that hospitals and industries are only capable of transferring pollutants instead of completely decomposing them.
In 2003, NCCO's scientific research team successfully developed NCCO (Nano-Confined Catalytic Oxidation) technology and obtained patents in many countries. NCCO can effectively adsorb and decompose pollutants in the air simultaneously, breaking the common practice of using only adsorption materials.
Nano
N
200-meter catalytic tube present in each 4mm nanomaterial
Confined
C
Captures and stores contaminants
Catalytic
C
Forms catalytic bed with mixed catalyst using transitional metals from volcanic rocks
Oxidation
O
Actively generates active oxygen and captures excess ozone in the room. Disinfects, deodorizes and restores air
NANO: The catalytic material is a non-poisonous, recyclable mineral material with well-defined nano tunnel.
CONFINED: A granule of catalytic material with 0.4 cm in diameter has around 400 feet of adsorption tunnel
CATALYTIC: The nano tunnel contains a mass of transition metals
OXIDATION: Active oxygen generated from system can oxidize air pollutants into water vapour and carbon dioxide.
Tested by authoritative testing companies, out NCCO technology has an extremely high removal rate of gaseous pollutants, and has excellent sterilization and deodorization effects for Staphylococcus aureus, H3N2 virus, etc.
Advantages of NCCO
Compared with most air purification technologies on the market, such as activated carbon, photocatalyst, negative ions, etc., NCCO technology's effectiveness is significantly better. Take activated carbon as an example. It can only adsorb pollutants in a short period, but cannot decompose pollutants. Moreover, when the activated carbon is saturated, the adsorbed contaminants will be rereleased into the air, causing secondary pollution and causing great harm to users' health.
On the contrary, NCCO oxygen polymerization can continuously absorb and decompose harmful pollutants. The life of the NCCO filter can last as long as 12 years in the laboratory environment.
NCCO technology has solved various issues in different fields such as commercial, industrial, retail and automobile. It can deal with various problems with indoor and outdoor air pollution, such as handling public toilets, subway toilets, garbage landfills, and other strong odors. In Hong Kong, NCCO products have been applied to government departments, subways, banks, hospitals, schools, high-end hotels, real estate, and shopping malls.
